- WCAG COMPLIANCE AUDITING
The First Step in Section 508 & ADA Compliance is an Accessibility Audit
In order to ensure maximum accessibility and legal protection for your website, it is essential to follow best practices defined by the Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) – the existing standard for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. This not only applies to websites, but also web apps and mobile apps. To provide a comprehensive WCAG audit, we use a 3-step process that consists of automated scanning, human assistive technology testing, and manual UX and code reviews. Our experienced team of web accessibility experts are well-versed in all aspects of section 508 and ADA website compliance testing. Through our careful examination, we can ensure that your digital properties adhere to the highest standards possible not only from an legal standpoint but also from a ethical one as well. With our expertise, you can have peace of mind knowing that your website or application meets all necessary requirements in terms of accessibility and compliance.

- Proven process for Accessibility Testing
Accessibility Audit Process
Automated WCAG Testing
To thoroughly test your website, we will use multiple systems. We will begin by using industry-leading software to scan the entire site and document any issues found. While this software is useful for identifying a large number of issues, it is limited in its ability to detect all types of problems (about 30%) and cannot provide a complete assessment of the website’s accessibility and compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). For this reason, it is necessary to supplement automated testing with manual evaluation by human testers which is the next step in our process.
Manual Human WCAG Testing
We identify and test all website templates and unique pages to identify any systematic errors and fix them efficiently across the entire system. In addition to manual code testing, we use tools that check for color contrast issues, inspect the code, and analyze the communication between the application and the Accessibility API layer, which is used to translate information for screen readers. This helps us ensure that the website is accessible to users with disabilities.
Assistive Technology Testing
The final step of the testing process involves using assistive technologies to simulate the experience of users with disabilities. By this point, most issues will have been identified and addressed, but this step allows us to identify any remaining problems that may affect users with assistive technologies. To do this, we use various desktop assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA and ZoomText as well as mobile assistive technologies such as TalkBack for Android and VoiceOver for iOS. This helps us identify any specific challenges that users with these technologies may face when interacting with the website.
